Our handles come from several suppliers, so that we can offer you a more wider range, here is our general guide to the finishes and processes that give the knobs and handles there appeal, however, as there are so many handles on offer, some of the processes and materials can differ.

Aluminium

Made from an aluminium alloy, this finish is generally anodised after production to obtain an all over uniform finish, and giving some durability, it has quite a greyish silver looking metal finish without looking to bright, a modern look.

Stainless Steel Handles

Stainless steel

This is a very popular finish, there are two ways of obtaining this finish, in some the effect is applied to solid brass via an advanced vacuum process, this process makes the handle resistible to damage in normal day to day use. And others are made simply from solid stainless steel.
Available in
Polished; offers a high mirror like finish
Satin; or often called brushed, a dull grained look - the most popular effect

Titanium

An effective but mostly unlooked finish, it gives a smooth satin look, quite a modern style, this is acquired by a dipping process

Chrome Handles

Chrome

This finish is achieved by the dipping process, making them almost maintenance free, except a clean now and again!! This is a very popular choice

Polished: a very high reflective finish, just like a mirror

>Satin: just like the stainless brushed finish, but can be slightly lighter colour

Nickel

Another metal effect is the nickel finish, a dipped process from a brass handle that gives a lighter silver look than most other metals.
Available in

Antique: this has a hand brushed antique look, using a very dark colour to the nikel, to make it look more rustic and old.

Satin: even thought this isn’t a shiny finish, it does have a very light metal look

White Powder Coated Handles

White

This finish is not a common one, but it’s a nice satin white smooth, all over finish, generally applied by the powder coating process.

Bronze

An antique look across the range, this is a painted and lacquered finish for the bronze look, made from brass handles, we would expect this finish to wear over time, but would defiantly then enhance the antique effect of the handles

Iron Handles

Iron

This finish is so, mainly because the handles are cast in a mould from iron, the pattern is imprinted in the mould, and then cleaned up, and some will have a protective coat on top so you will get a very nice finish.
Available in
Antique, as this is an applied finish, some of the handle will be an alloy composite, with the finish applied on top, giving a nice antique look.

Pewter

Most handles in this finish are made from solid pewter, cast in a mould, to give a very genuine dark, rustic pewter effect, some can be from a pewter alloy composite, still giving that same high finish.

Brass Handles

Brass

Solid brass handles give a traditional look finish, golden yellow in colour a popular choice, most polished brass products are coated with the most advanced lacquers which should see many years service,
Available in
Antique: a hand brushed finish is given to the brass to acquire that antique look which can be a lot darker than the standard brass finish.

Satin: a duller appearance than the polished brass, but still a nice golden yellow look

Black Finish

This black finish is often created by the powder coating process, the coating is applied electrostatically and is then dried under heat to allow it to flow and form a skin, and this is applied on to the steel, and also creates a protective barrier. For the antique look the material generally has a mottled finish, before the coating is applied, giving it the rustic look.

Timber Handles

Timber

The timber knob is generally made from oak which in its natural state is very light in colour. The knobs are coloured using wood stains e.g. beech, cherry, for the authentic look, whilst still retaining that wood feels

Porcelian

A hard wearing finish that requires no maintenance, mainly suited to the more traditional projects. Porcelain’s glazed ceramic properties give a very smooth and shiny finish.

Available in

Crackle: one type of the porcelain knob is called crackle, a process is involved that gives the knob a shattered appearance on the outside, and another protective glaze is given, to give that knob the same smooth appearance as a standard knob.

Coloured: there are many colours to choose from in this range, an all give the smooth glass like appearance

Porcelian Handles

Acrylic: A glassy thermoplastic material that is vacuum-formed to cast and mold shapes that form knobs and handles can give a very modern, alternative look
